But travel to one tip and the rhythm changes. The bands narrow, multiply, and compress into a tight cluster of concentric rings, agate doing what agate does when its growth curls in on itself. No human hand made that transition. It is the stone's own natural signature.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis bead belongs to our Cigar Shape family: elongated, gently tapered barrels of naturally banded agate with no etched motif. Where the bow-shaped natural dzi curve, the Cigar Shape runs straight, a long, cylindrical silhouette narrowing gradually toward both ends, with a slightly flattened cross-section.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe banding itself is the entire composition. Reading the bead end to end, the bands shift in width and tone, some sharp-edged and high-contrast, others softening into a hazy boundary where brown blends into grey before the next dark stripe. Fine internal texture is visible within several of the lighter bands up close: a faint fibrous sparkle from the agate's crystalline structure, not a surface flaw.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBoth ends are drilled with a single, central hole. The compressed-ring end shows its drill hole set within the dense natural banding, slightly irregular at the rim from hand-finishing rather than damage. The opposite hole is cleaner-edged.
