I was 16 years old when my meditation teacher gifted me an exceptionally vital instruction.
We are intrinsically noble. It is our birthright. Tragically, some of us resolve to abdicate this beautiful nobility to another.
This perilous error is committed in hopes of exchanging our birthright for a quality, feeling, or object falsely perceived to be superlative.
This substitution gains only ephemeral adornments for the insatiable ego: to feel love, validation, or for monetary gain.
Indisputably, nothing more precious than our inherent nobility exists.
To echo the words of my dear teacher, never sacrifice your nobility. To anyone. To anything
