This bead is vintage, not antique. It was made before 2000 using the traditional dzi crafting technique, with a deliberate antique-style finish, and has since gained more than two decades of genuine age of its own.

It shares its ground and surface with our white Tiger Stripes, Eyes and Stars dzi (V-FA-062026-TESW) — the same crackled cream-white finish and dark brown chevrons — but with a simpler, more concentrated design: tiger tooth and stripes only, with no eyes or stars to break the rhythm. Six rows of tiger tooth chevrons run the length of the bead, divided by seven vertical stripes.

The cream-white ground carries a fine, even network of surface crackle on every face — a character of the finish, not damage. The dark brown chevrons form an unbroken zigzag from end to end, a tighter, more repetitive rhythm than its sister bead.

Two small details are worth naming. One small reddish-tan fleck sits in the cream on one face, most likely a natural inclusion in the agate. One end cap has a small area of surface texture or light wear beside the drill opening, not repeated at the other end. Neither affects the bead's soundness.

The bead is an elongated barrel with gently tapered ends. Both drill openings are otherwise clean and round. No bloodspots.

The Tiger Tooth and Stripes Motif

The tiger tooth is associated with strength and courage, and the stripe with lasting, uninterrupted success. Together they read as one sustained statement: strength carried forward without a break.
