The Naga's body on this bead has right angles. Look at the body scale faces — the flanking panels on either side of the central eye are not curved or flowing forms. They are squared rectangles, with clean corners and flat edges, sitting within the hexagonal outline of the scale like tiles in a frame. The Dragon's body is rendered here not as an organic, sinuous pattern but as an architectural structure: precise, formal, geometric. This is what makes this bead immediately distinct from its two companion Six Eye Naga pieces in this collection. At-092524-6EN has a flowing hexagonal scale. At-122124-6EN2 has a wide, organically curved scale form. This bead has a scale built from rectangles.
The paired eye faces are equally precise. The two Dragon eyes sit with crisp, near-perfect circular cream rings against a ground that is the darkest of the three Naga beads — approaching near-black in the darkest zones. The contrast is very high. The pupils are round, well-centred dark brown ovals within bright cream rings that read cleanly at every angle. The figure-8 connection at the centre waist between the two eyes is sharp and well-defined. The surface is smooth throughout, the smoothest of the three Naga beads, with no significant micro-pitting — the cream lines hold their edges with the clarity of a piece that has aged without surface disruption.
The three Six Eye Naga beads in this collection each embody the same creature differently. At-092524-6EN presents the Dragon with a darker, deeper ground and a fluid organic scale. At-122124-6EN2 presents it with the widest cream zones — the cream dominant, the dark secondary. This bead presents the Dragon most precisely: near-black ground, crisp bright cream, and a body scale built from geometric rectangles rather than flowing curves. Same tradition, same motif count, three distinct visual personalities.
In Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the Six Eye Naga / Dragon Eye dzi is understood to embody the power of the Dragon directly — not as symbol but as vessel. The Naga is associated with water, the earth's deep wealth, protective force, and the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum. The six eyes are distributed across four faces: two paired eyes per face-eye face, one single eye per body-scale face. No single angle reveals the full count — the bead must be turned to encounter all six. That distribution is part of the tradition: power held in all directions simultaneously.
The bead measures 48.5mm × 11.7mm. Material is high-quality natural agate. Condition is excellent — no cracks. Estimated age 200 to 400 years. Natural weathering marks consistent with age are present.
