The cream line on this bead doesn't move in a straight path between the eyes — it turns, steps, and doubles back on itself, tracing a right-angled route across the black ground rather than a simple connecting stripe.

This is a newly crafted dzi bead, made in Taiwan. The ground is a true black, confirmed under flat white-background lighting and consistent across the full length of the piece. Against that black, the cream-white lines are crisp and high-contrast, forming both the plain vertical stripe bands at the ends and the stepped, right-angled connecting path that links the eyes across the centre of the bead.

The bead is a classic barrel form, drilled through the centre. Each of the six eyes — a small dark circle ringed in cream — sits framed within the geometric step pattern, giving the piece a more architectural, linear character than the simpler curved-connector eye motifs seen elsewhere in this collection. The high gloss finish and cream-white tone visible at the drilled end both support natural agate as the material.
