The cream ring at the centre of this bead doesn't sit alone — on one side it opens into a narrow waisted shape, almost like a second smaller motif folded into the first, before the plain stripe bands pick back up on either end.

This is a genuine vintage dzi bead, hand-carved and etched in Taiwan during the 1980s — real age, distinct from the antique and ancient tiers found elsewhere in this collection. The ground is a deep, warm dark brown, not true black; under flat white-background lighting the brown tone is consistent and unmistakable across the full length of the piece, including within the plain stripe bands. The cream-white striping is crisp and high-contrast against it.

The bead is a barrel form, drilled through the centre. The central eye motif — a small dark circle ringed in cream — sits at the heart of the piece, flanked by the mountain element: the wider, waisted cream shape that opens outward, visible most clearly on one face of the bead. Plain vertical cream stripes bookend the composition at both ends. The high gloss finish and the cream-white tone visible at the drilled ends both support natural agate as the material, consistent with this shop's verification standards.
