Four Eye & Dharma Conch Dzi, 45.6×13.3mm, Warm Brown Agate (At-090626-4EDC)
We never retouch our photos. What you see is exactly what you will receive.
The two conch faces on this bead do not match. One carries a pair of large cream spirals trailing into flowing curves; the other a single, more central spiral whose tail curves away across the warm brown ground. The four eyes sit on the other two faces, two per face, their cream-white rings blending softly into the brown rather than cutting sharply — the way old decoration settles into agate over centuries.
The ground is a warm medium brown with natural honey and tan banding visible beneath the motif — the agate's own character, shifting from face to face. At both drill ends the stone opens into a translucent, glowing orange-gold, distinctly warmer than the body, one of the bead's most attractive natural features (visible in both angled photos).
The design alternates around the bead — conch, eyes, conch, eyes — and no two faces are identical. The conch scrolls are free-form, with no stripe dividers or rigid framing, moving openly across the stone.
Condition is excellent for its age. The lines are intact, there are no cracks or chips, and both small, clean drill holes sit within the orange end zones. The surface is high-gloss throughout.
The Four Eye and Dharma Conch Motif
The Dharma conch (法螺) is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Tibetan Buddhism — the white conch whose spiral represents the Buddha's teaching spreading in every direction. On dzi it appears as a flowing cream scroll. Combined with four eyes, associated with protection in all four directions, the design joins the spread of the Dharma with protection across all of space, and is worn to support spiritual practice.
