On this bracelet the cinnabar does not appear as dots or clusters — it spreads, covering broad zones of individual bead surfaces in bold warm russet-brown that is visible from across a room.

This is the most visually dramatic of the three chalcedony bloodspot bracelets in the collection. Where N-030526-CB presents cinnabar integrated into sweeping banding, and N-030526-CB2 presents it as concentrated discrete cluster groupings, N-020726-CB3 presents cinnabar as bold, large-scale mass zones — warm russet-brown to deep rust-orange spreading across significant portions of individual bead faces. Images 4 and 9 show the clearest examples: beads where the cinnabar mass occupies a substantial area of the surface, dense and texturally rich, the warm russet tone contrasting sharply against the pale translucent chalcedony base. Some beads carry the cinnabar wrapping from one face toward the equator, the mass zone following the internal agate structure rather than any external boundary.

The chalcedony base on this bracelet is notably paler and more translucent than either previous listing — closer to a near-translucent blush-lavender, almost milky in the beads with the least cinnabar coverage (Images 6 and 7). This paleness amplifies the visual contrast: where the stone is clearest, the warm russet cinnabar reads most boldly against it. The two registers — pale translucent lavender-blush and bold warm russet — alternate across the bracelet as it sits on the wrist, making this the highest-contrast piece of the three.

The bead form is cushion-barrel — the same rounded square cross-section as N-030526-CB, slightly wider than tall, with softly rounded edges and faces at 10.0mm × 9.0mm. This distinguishes it from N-030526-CB2, which uses a fully spherical bead. Gold-tone flat rondelle spacers separate each bead, their warm gold tone complementing the russet-brown cinnabar zones rather than contrasting with them. The bracelet is strung on elastic cord and sized for standard adult wrist wear.

The cinnabar (硃砂/zhūshā) on this bracelet is mercuric sulfide (HgS) — a naturally occurring mineral inclusion that forms within agate during its original growth phase when mercury and sulfur are present. It cannot be introduced into the stone after formation. The scale and density of the cinnabar zones on the most heavily saturated beads in this bracelet — visible clearly without any magnification — places it among the more extraordinary natural bloodspot presentations we have offered. Each bead in the bracelet is unique; no two carry the same distribution, scale, or boundary of their cinnabar zone.

Cinnabar Bloodspots in Natural Chalcedony

Cinnabar (硃砂/zhūshā) — mercuric sulfide (HgS) — forms within agate during its original geological growth, requiring mercury, sulfur, specific temperature, and deep time in combination. In its purest natural form the colour ranges from bright vermilion through warm russet-brown to deep rust-orange, depending on associated minerals and concentration. In Tibetan and Chinese collecting tradition, cinnabar inclusions in natural stone are considered signs of exceptional geological vitality and spiritual potency. The large-scale mass zones on this bracelet — where the cinnabar occupies broad bead surface areas rather than fine dots or hairline bands — represent one of the more striking natural expressions of this inclusion type.
