The motif lines on this bead are not cream — they are the agate itself, and the stone's natural banding runs through them in warm honey, soft peach, and cool grey-blue without interruption.

This is a genuine vintage Taiwan dzi, produced in the 1980s and finished in high-quality natural agate. The ground is pitch-black, confirmed from flat-lit white-background photography across all faces. What distinguishes this bead from other Heaven & Earth pieces is the visibility of the agate's natural internal banding throughout both the dark zones and the cream motif zones — the layering in the stone runs continuously through the entire surface, giving the motif lines a warmth and depth that etched cream-white alone does not produce. Warm honey and soft peach tones shift through the motif areas alongside a cool grey-blue from the stone's natural layering, and the dark ground itself carries subtle banding visible under the pitch-black surface treatment.

The Double Heaven & Earth composition means both major faces carry the full paired motif — the large oval Heaven circle on one face, the stepped square Earth elements on the other. Because the natural banding shifts as the stone is turned, no two rotations read with the same colour balance within the motif lines. Surface finish retains the high gloss characteristic of quality 1980s Taiwan production. Fine surface marks are visible at the equatorial area, consistent with vintage age — disclosed here as found. No cracks are visible in any of the white-background photos; this is my own finding from the images. The drill channel is standard and cleanly executed at both ends.
