Modern Reproduction Antique-style Six Eye Lotus Motif Dzi Bead (V-FA-062026-6ELL)

This bead is vintage, not antique. It was made before 2000 using the traditional dzi crafting technique, with a deliberate antique-style finish, and has since gained more than two decades of genuine age of its own.

It is the sister bead to our diamond-lattice Nine Eye, V-FA-062026-9EDL: same maker, same era, same finish and the same rectilinear lattice construction, but built around a Six Eye Lotus. Instead of small diamond eyes within a grid of H-bars, this bead arranges angular V-chevron petals in a radiating pattern that reads as a stylised lotus, with vertical stripes framing each face.

The ground is a high-gloss, even black with no warm or olive tones. The motif is a matte sandy-cream with a noticeably raised, stucco-like texture you can feel, set apart from the smooth glossy lines of our S-meander beads. The petals are angular and pointed, nested V-shapes converging toward the centre of each face.

Both end caps are intact, black with a cream ring near each tip, and both drill openings are clean, round and centred.

The bead is a compact, broad-shouldered barrel, shorter and wider than our S-meander beads. The gloss is even on every face. No cracks and no bloodspots.

The Six Eye Lotus Motif

The Six Eye is associated with clearing away suffering and turning aside misfortune, through the clear judgement it is believed to encourage. Paired with the lotus — the flower that rises pure from muddy water — it speaks of clarity that holds steady even in difficult times.
