Nine eyes spread across this bead's two long faces in the traditional nine eye arrangement, a composition that has stayed consistent in the dzi tradition for centuries. Each eye is clearly defined: a cream-tan ring around a dark agate centre, set against the deep charcoal-grey ground. An S-curve maze-line network runs continuously across both faces, linking the eyes into one unified composition. The lines keep a consistent weight and meet the eye rings cleanly.

The agate ground is a deep charcoal-grey with a warm brown undertone, dark and rich, giving the cream-tan motif strong contrast without the absolute black of some dzi. The colour is even across the body. Both ends carry horizontal bands leading to the tips, and the drill holes are small and well-centred.

The form is a classic elongated barrel, 58.5mm long and 13.1mm at its widest, a generous size that gives the full nine eye composition room across the surface and makes it a prominent piece when strung.

This bead is new, crafted within the last 20 years from natural agate using the traditional dzi crafting technique.

Nine is among the most powerful numbers in Tibetan Buddhist cosmology, and the nine eye dzi is known as the King of All Dzi. It is traditionally associated with merit, the clearing of obstacles in all directions, attracting wealth, protection from negative forces, and good fortune in every part of life.
