These two beads share a motif and an age, but not a colour. One is pale — a soft, luminous peach-cream, its cream-white wave arcs almost melting into the light stone. The other is warm — a deeper golden-honey to ochre-tan, the same waves standing out with stronger contrast. Side by side they read at once as a pair, and at once as two individuals.

On each bead, bold, flowing diagonal cream-white bands sweep from one end to the other — broad curves rather than tight lines, working with the agate's natural banding so the design feels both crafted and organic. On the pale bead the waves blend softly into the ground. On the honey bead they stand out more sharply, and the golden areas carry a fine natural speckling that adds texture and sets it further apart from its partner.

At 300 to 500 years old and just over 17mm long, these are compact antique beads, well suited to multi-strand or stacked designs. Both drill holes on each bead are small and clean. No cracks or chips on either.

The wave on Tibetan dzi represents the continuous flow of energy and life — the movement of breath, water and the forces that sustain existence. It is associated with the uninterrupted continuity of cause and effect, the protection of vitality and the smooth flow of good fortune.
