Ancient Seven Eye Dzi Necklace, 1,000+ Year Focal Bead, UV Verified, Adjustable (J-090626-7EN)

The centrepiece of this necklace is more than a thousand years old. Its seven eyes are not arranged evenly: three sit on one face and four on the other, a rare asymmetric layout known as the 3+4 variant and seen far less often than the standard seven eye. The necklace was composed around that bead, and every other element was chosen in relation to it.

The focal bead is the Ancient Seven Eye Dzi Ac-071026-7E: 54.6mm × 13.3mm, dark brown agate, UV verified, estimated at over 1,000 years. Its ground is deep dark brown through the centre, warming to a richer brown at both ends. All eye and wave faces are intact, with clean cream lines and no chips or cracks. A UV test photo and video are shown on its individual listing.

On each side of the focal bead sits one bead from the Antique Wave Dzi Pair At-073026-WPair, 300–500 years old. These compact barrels (17.1mm × 11.0mm and 17.2mm × 10.5mm) carry the same wave motif in two tones — a pale, luminous peach-cream and a deeper golden-ochre — lighter stones framing a very dark centre.

The remaining beads are antique and vintage dzi. Along the upper strand runs a row of short barrel beads with cream-tan striped patterning on dark grounds, no two alike. Two larger oval beads of banded agate sit further out on each side, a grey-blue marbled round bead with white swirls sits next to the focal bead, and a large dark oval with sand-tan natural markings anchors one end of the lower strand. Black onyx rounds separate the beads throughout. The necklace closes with an adjustable sliding-knot black braided cord.

The necklace is sold as one complete piece. The focal bead and the wave pair are also listed individually and will be withdrawn from sale once this necklace sells. All other beads are included as part of the assembled piece.

The Seven Eye Motif

The Seven Eye dzi (七眼天珠) is one of the most revered eye counts in the Tibetan tradition. Seven corresponds to the seven factors of awakening — mindfulness, investigation, energy, joy, tranquillity, concentration and equanimity. A seven eye bead is traditionally worn to remove obstacles, invite good fortune and support those qualities of awakening. In the rare 3+4 variant, the count is only complete when both faces are held in mind.
