New Natural One Eye Dzi Bead, 42.5×16.8mm, Banded Agate (N-N-062126-1E2)

This eye sits off-centre, closer to one end than the other — and that asymmetry is exactly how the agate grew, not a choice anyone made.

The eye itself is built from concentric natural banding: a dark brown-black core, ringed by a clean white band, then a warm tan-grey transition before the surrounding body takes over — all of it the agate's own fortification structure, with no etching or applied colour anywhere on the piece. Rotate the bead toward its edge and the rest of the body reveals long, parallel diagonal striping in warm grey, brown, and tan tones, the bands running the visible length of the stone in a clean, rhythmic sweep.

The form is a flattened, lens-shaped focal bead, asymmetric rather than a true oval — one end tapers to a narrower point where the single drill hole sits, while the eye is positioned nearer the broader end. This off-centre placement is part of what makes the piece distinctive within the shop's growing naturally-formed collection: the eye doesn't sit in the geometric middle, it sits where the stone's own banding happened to concentrate.

Surface is glossy across the banded faces, with a slightly more textured quality right at the eye's outer ring — a natural surface characteristic rather than wear or damage. No cracks or chips are visible in any of the six photographs provided.

The One Eye Motif

In Tibetan dzi tradition, the One Eye motif is among the most foundational, associated with clarity of vision, wisdom, and good fortune in a single, concentrated form. Where this motif occurs naturally — formed by the agate's own banding rather than applied by hand — the symbolism is often read as doubly significant: a meaning the stone arrived at on its own.
