On this bead, the dark ground doesn't lighten at the ends — it runs the same very deep dark brown from drill hole to drill hole, and the nine cream eyes cut through it in an unbroken sequence.

This is a newly crafted Taiwan dzi, made within roughly the last twenty years, finished in high-quality natural agate. Unlike some pieces in this motif family where the end caps carry a distinctly warmer or lighter tone, this bead holds its very deep dark brown uniformly across the full length — a single consistent ground that makes the cream-white motif lines read with particularly sharp contrast from every angle. The nine eye motif is etched cleanly and precisely, with the stepped connecting lines giving the design its characteristic geometric rhythm across the barrel.

Surface finish is smooth and well-polished end to end, with a consistent gloss across both the deep dark ground and the raised cream lines. The drill channel is centered and cleanly executed at both ends, consistent with standard contemporary drilling — no enlarged or keyhole boring.
