Nine circles run the length of this bead, framed by a stepped cream line that shifts direction at every turn — and the ground colour shifts with it, from warm honey-brown at each end to a much darker brown-black through the centre of the bead.

This is a newly crafted Taiwan dzi, made within roughly the last twenty years, finished in high-quality natural agate. The two-zone ground is confirmed from white-background photos at both the end caps and the body: a lighter amber-brown tone at the drilled ends gives way to a noticeably darker, almost black-brown through the central section, creating a gradient effect along the bead's length rather than a single flat ground colour. The nine eye motif is etched in clean cream-white, with the stepped connecting lines giving the design a graphic, geometric rhythm.

Surface finish is smooth and well-polished from end to end, with consistent gloss across both the lighter and darker ground zones and the raised motif lines. The drill channel is centered and clean at both ends, consistent with standard contemporary drilling. No cracks, chips, or surface damage are visible in any of the photos; the bead presents in excellent ready-to-wear condition.
