Three Eye Tiger Tooth Motif, 27.6×11.8mm, Grey-Brown Agate (N-FA-071426-3ETT)

Three Eye Tiger Tooth Motif, 27.6×11.8mm, Grey-Brown Agate (N-FA-071426-3ETT)

🪨 Genuine agate. Unretouched photos. What you see is what ships.

On this bead, the three eyes are not all the same shape — the eye on face A reads as a clear diamond, angular at the corners and dark at the pupil, while the eye on face B opens into a wider, rounder form with a softer boundary between centre and surround. A third eye sits on the connecting face between them. Around all three, scattered dark spots — the tiger tooth element — dot the cream-grey body in irregular clusters, concentrated between the eye zones and continuing toward the end caps.

This bead was made in Taiwan using the same deliberate antique-style process as the other pieces in this antique-look series. Where a standard new dzi would present high-contrast cream-white and pitch-black, this piece has been finished to produce something quieter — a warm grey-brown body with medium-dark accent zones, and a surface that reads as matte and slightly frosted rather than polished bright. The cream zones are soft and wide, the dark zones graduated rather than sharply bounded.

The end caps carry the same warm cream-grey tone as the body zones, continuing the muted palette across the full form. At both ends, the frosted surface texture is clearly visible — a deliberate part of the aged-look finish rather than wear or damage. The drill channel is clean and consistent with new Taiwan production.

At 27.6×11.8mm this is a compact, wide-proportioned barrel — the diameter is nearly half the length, giving it a distinctly squat, chunky presence in the hand. It sits alongside the Two Eye and Four Activities pieces from this series as the most compact group in the shop's Taiwan dzi range.

The Three Eye Tiger Tooth Motif

The three eye dzi is associated with the wealth deities of the Tibetan tradition — Kubera and the three spheres of existence — and is said to attract abundance, good fortune, and the fulfilment of material wishes. The tiger tooth element adds a protective dimension: the markings reference the tiger's power and its role as a guardian against harmful forces. Combined, the three eye tiger tooth motif brings together the energies of prosperity and protection in a single piece — a combination that has made it one of the enduring compound motifs in dzi history.
