The focal bead of this bracelet has a cream ground: the dark lines are the motif and the pale stone is the field — the reverse of most dzi.

The bracelet is built around one elongated Double Tiger Tooth dzi, flanked by two natural turquoise beads and completed with sixteen pitch-black agate rounds. One statement bead, two colour accents and a continuous dark band, with everything leading the eye to the centre.

The focal dzi is a long, tapered barrel, much larger than the other beads. Its ground is a warm sandy-cream to honey-tan, and on both faces dark chocolate-brown chevron bands sweep diagonally to meet at the centre line, forming the paired tooth design (clearest in Image 3). It is the opposite colour arrangement to our antique Double Tiger Tooth Dzi At-102524-DTT, which carries the pattern on a dark ground.

The two turquoise beads are a medium teal-green with natural matrix and mottling, one on each side of the dzi, separated by small silver-tone rondelles. With the cream dzi and black agate, no two neighbouring beads share the same material. The black agate rounds are glossy and evenly sized, with silver-tone spacers at intervals.

The focal dzi is a new bead, made within roughly the last 20 years using the traditional dzi crafting technique.

The bracelet is strung on elastic cord and fits wrists up to 17.5cm — a smaller fit, so please measure before ordering.

The Double Tiger Tooth Motif

The Tiger Tooth (虎牙) is one of the most direct protective designs in the dzi tradition, standing for strength, courage and the power to overcome obstacles. The double tiger tooth doubles that protection. The motif is closely related to the wave pattern, and many collectors read the two interchangeably, the wave adding the meaning of continuous success. Worn at the wrist, it places that strength at the point of action.
