This Luk Mik bead does not have one concentric ring. It has several, and each one sits at a different tone inside the last.

Where its sister ring, the Luk Mik ring with dragon shank, presents a single pale blue-grey band on a pitch-black ground, this ring carries a Luk Mik bead of a completely different character. The 13.7mm bead at its centre is a deep cool grey-brown throughout. The concentric bands read as a sequence of tones rather than a single stripe: a darker outer ring, a cool grey-taupe middle band, and a warmer sandy-taupe inner zone around the centre, giving the bead more depth and warmth than the high-contrast pitch-black version. Viewed from directly above (Image 4), the bead reads as a set of nested ovals, the eye drawn inward step by step.

The setting is clean and geometric. The bezel is a four-claw prong construction holding the bead at the cardinal points, flanked on each shoulder by a single triangular pavé CZ panel set flush with the shank. The shank itself is smooth and unadorned between the panels, polished silver-tone metal with no engraving. The result is a contemporary, architectural feel: bead at centre, triangles as accent, clean metal as frame.

The underside (Image 7) shows the open-back adjustable split-band construction, a sliding mechanism that lets the ring fit a wide range of finger sizes without alteration. The inner bezel shows the pale cool grey underside of the bead, and the inner shank carries a subtle textured casting. The stamp visible in Image 6 shows the metal specification.

This ring is vintage, not antique and not new production. The Luk Mik bead is natural agate, crafted using the traditional dzi technique. The setting is silver-tone metal with CZ stones. It is a wearable piece for daily use.

The Luk Mik Motif

The concentric band structure of the Luk Mik motif is understood in Tibetan tradition as an eye of heaven: an unbroken ring representing clarity of vision, continuity of protection, and harmony with the order of things. Luk Mik dzi are worn to strengthen the wearer's vitality, guard against illness and misfortune, and enhance personal fortune.
