We never retouch our photos. What you see is exactly what you will receive.
At 56mm this is one of the longest antique two eye dzi in our collection, and the extra length shows. The stripe dividers beside each eye have room to breathe, the connecting faces are wider and carry more complex geometry, and the whole bead has a presence shorter pieces cannot match. Each eye sits on its own face — a cream outer ring around a cream inner ring and a small oval pupil — the classic concentric form, generously sized against the pitch-black ground.
The connecting faces carry stepped, angular cream elements: brackets and partial arcs with right-angle turns rather than flowing waves, each face showing its own geometric fragment before the next eye turns into view. This stepped vocabulary is often seen on older Tibetan dzi.
The body is pitch-black, with a fine, even micro-granular texture across the dark areas consistent with its age. Both end caps are a warm dark brown, lighter than the body — the agate's natural colour at the tips. Both drill holes are small and clean. No cracks or chips.
The cream lines are bold and clear, holding strong contrast after centuries of handling and wear.
The Two Eye Motif
The Two Eye dzi (二眼天珠) is one of the most fundamental and widely worn forms across the Himalayan world — in Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal and Tibetan communities beyond. Each eye is a watchful presence: protective, perceptive and steadying. Together the two eyes are often understood as wisdom and compassion, and the bead is associated with balance, harmonious relationships and protection in both inner and outer life. A bead of this age has carried that meaning through many generations of wearers.
