Between the eyes on this bead, the wave lines do not stop at one row — they stack three deep.

Most five-eye dzi fill the side faces with a single wave band between the eye zones. On this piece, the wave structure runs three rows across each side face: interlocking cream waves, one above the other, dense enough that the side faces carry as much visual interest as the eye faces themselves. From the front, three eyes sit in a row. From the reverse, two more. Rotate ninety degrees and the wave field opens — three continuous bands of undulating cream against dark warm brown, the crests and troughs of each row shifting out of phase with the row below it, creating a layered, almost textile quality to the connector zone.

The five eyes are standard concentric-ring form — each one a cream circle with a dark brown centre — distributed in the three-and-two split characteristic of this motif. Three sit on the primary face, two on the reverse, with the wave band wrapping the full circumference between them. The ground is dark warm brown agate, confirmed from flat-lit white-background photos, with warm honey-brown at both glossy drill-end tips. The cream motif lines are bold warm off-white, high-contrast throughout. The surface is uniformly high-gloss.

The form is elongated fusiform at 57.3mm, tapering evenly to both drill ends. No cracks and no chips are visible in any photo. I independently confirm both. No bloodspot inclusions are visible at the resolution provided.

The Five Eye Motif

The five eye dzi (五眼天珠) is one of the most auspicious eye-count forms in the Tibetan dzi tradition. Five eyes correspond to the Five Dhyani Buddhas — Vairocana, Akshobhya, Ratnasambhava, Amitabha, and Amoghasiddhi — the five aspects of awakened mind that together represent the complete transformation of the five aggregates of human experience into wisdom. The five-eye bead is also associated with the five directions (the four cardinal points plus the centre), extending protection across all of space. Wearing a five-eye dzi is understood to invite the blessings of all five buddha families simultaneously and to support the practitioner's movement toward the full realisation of awakened mind.
