Two Eye Motif, 39.9×11.6mm, dark brown and pitch-black agate (N-090525-2E)

This bead follows the same two-zone construction as its Four Eye counterparts — dark brown at both ends, pitch-black through the centre — but carries the Two Eye motif, with angular stepped lines linking the eyes instead of flowing curves.

This is a new Taiwan-crafted dzi bead in natural agate. The end caps, visible in Images 6 and 7, are a warm dark brown — confirmed from the white-background photographs. The ground deepens into a flat, dense pitch-black through the central body of the bead, also confirmed from the white-background photographs. This two-zone colour structure is consistent with other recent pieces in this production batch.

The Two Eye motif presents one eye ring per face, each set within a rectangular frame and flanked by vertical divider stripes, visible clearly in Images 2 and 4. Between the two eye faces, a geometric stepped line pattern connects the composition — sharp right-angle turns forming a maze-like cream-white line against the black ground, visible in Images 3 and 5. Where the Four Eye beads in this collection use a flowing S-curve to link their eye units, this bead uses an angular, architectural stepped line instead, giving the piece a more structured, geometric character.

The form is a standard barrel with gently tapered ends. The drill holes are visible in Images 6 and 7, set within the dark brown end zones with standard, clean drilling. No cracks or chips are present — this is my own observation from all six photo angles.

The Two Eye Motif

The two eye dzi is associated with harmony in relationships — between spouses at home and between colleagues in the workplace. It is considered a favoured motif among managers and those in leadership roles, believed to smooth interpersonal friction and support cooperative, balanced relationships in both personal and professional spheres. The paired eyes, joined here by an architectural stepped line, suggest a connective, structural harmony binding two parties together.
