This bead is not a genuine antique. It was crafted before the year 2000 with a deliberately antique-style appearance, and it now carries over two decades of its own age — but it is not a centuries-old piece, and should not be confused for one.

Those decades have left their mark in the right places. The warm sandy-cream motif lines carry a fine, granular surface texture — not the smooth gloss of a freshly made piece — and the black ground reads deep and even across all four standard photographs. Twelve closed ring eyes run the bead's full length, each pair connected by flowing curved lines that link the composition into a single unbroken rhythm from one end to the other.

The most immediately distinctive physical detail on this bead is the drilling. Both ends carry large keyhole-style openings — wide, prominent, and visually distinct from the small single holes standard on most dzi in this collection.
