We never retouch our photos. What you see is exactly what you will receive.
This is a single, genuine ancient Tibetan Dzi bead carrying the Double Tiger Tooth Motif — one of the most powerful and misunderstood symbols in the Dzi tradition.
The Motif — Double Tiger Tooth
The Tiger Tooth Motif is also known by collectors as Tasso, Horse Teeth, or the Wave Motif. These names are not interchangeable by mistake — the designs genuinely overlap. On some beads the pattern resolves clearly as teeth; on others it flows as waves. On this particular bead, the Double Tiger Tooth reads with rare sharpness: two rows of upward-sweeping points that run the full length of the bead's body.
In Tibetan amulet tradition, the Tiger Tooth carries the energy of focused courage — not recklessness, but the precise, deliberate strength of a predator that does not hesitate. The Double form is believed to compound this quality: two sources of strength, reinforcing each other. Where the related Wave Motif emphasizes the continuous flow of fortune, the Tiger Tooth cuts forward — decisive, forward-moving, and protective.
Age & Authenticity
This bead is estimated to be between 500 and 800 years old — placing its origin in Tibet's pre-Qing period, before sustained European contact with the Himalayan plateau. It was made, worn, and passed through hands across centuries before reaching this listing.
The calcification visible on this bead is not a flaw or a defect. It is a geological record. Calcification of this depth and distribution does not form on modern reproductions or even on antique beads of a few hundred years. It forms across centuries of mineral interaction between the agate and the soil, cloth, and skin the bead was in contact with. On any ancient Dzi bead, heavy calcification is one of the most reliable physical indicators of genuine extreme age — and this bead has it.
